Fuel Level Sensor Module
The Fuel Level Sensor Module is a sensing component designed to detect and monitor the fuel level inside vehicle fuel tanks. Through its internal fuel level detection mechanism, the module senses changes in fuel height and transmits the corresponding detection signal to the vehicle instrument cluster, control system, or other fuel monitoring equipment, providing reliable data for fuel level display, fuel monitoring, and fuel management.
Product Description
The module features a compact structural design and integrates the sensing mechanism, connection wiring, and housing components. It is suitable for installation inside the fuel tanks of automobiles and other motor vehicles. The product can be customized according to different vehicle models, fuel tank structures, detection ranges, and other requirements to meet the installation and electrical connection requirements of different vehicle platforms.
The module uses a carbon-film resistive contact operating principle. As the fuel level in the tank rises or falls, an external float arm (not included with this product) drives the swing arm, which in turn moves the sliding contact to change the resistance value. The changing resistance converts the real-time fuel level inside the tank into a variable resistance signal, which is transmitted to the vehicle instrument cluster to display the remaining fuel level.

When Should the Fuel Level Sender Be Replaced?
This component is a wear part. Prolonged friction between the wiper and the carbon film may cause scratches and localized wear on the carbon film, resulting in abnormal signal output. Common symptoms include:
- The fuel gauge fluctuates or gives unstable readings while the vehicle is driving.
- The fuel gauge gets stuck, continuously showing either full or empty.
- There is a significant discrepancy between the fuel level displayed on the dashboard and the actual amount of fuel in the tank.
- The low-fuel warning light comes on abnormally even when there is still fuel in the tank.
